This paper looks at what is a capability? How do capabilities interact? Why would you measure capability? What and how would you measure capability maturity? Capability Management is a way which you can understand your current organisation’s system and why you get the performance you get today , at a global, management and operational level. It is an effective and efficient way to identify those capabilities required to achieve a target improvement in outcomes/performance and to identify within those capabilities missing and those that require improvement, while guiding that targeted improvement. We also present an approach to transformation and/or continuous improvement using Capability Management and a reference list of some of the most widely used Capability Maturity Models.
